Theatrical Bawdy House

On 17 May, at 19:30, the In the Game Theatre presents an immersive show inspired by Anton Chekhov’s classical works. This is a unique performance that engages audiences, combined with a gourmet dinner.

Did you know that Anton Chekhov, one of Russia’s most ironic writers, was quite a gourmand and hedonist? “Those who do not care properly about what they eat cannot be considered truly cultured people”, he said once.

The In the Game Theatre invites you to partake of Chekhov’s tastes and, for one night, together with the writer’s characters, to immerse yourself in an atmosphere of light-hearted irony.

Effervescent humour and wonderful live music will keep you company, while brilliant stage and film actors will deftly engage the guests in their creative process, so you feel part of the troupe. The menu includes Chekhov’s favourite dishes.

The play is inspired by Anton Chekhov’s comic stories: “The Lodger”, “The Tripping Tongue”, “American Style”, “Pushover”, “A Hopeless Case”, “A Drunk’s Conversation with a Sober Devil”, “New Year’s Martyrs.”

Menu à la Chekhov:

• Duck and foie gras paté that melts in your mouth, assorted Italian cheeses and exotic sausages.
• Shamelessly tasty Russian salad with trout and caviar.
• Juicy and wonderfully tender beef Stroganoff with pickled cucumbers (for “every wise man since the creation of the world has been trying to invent something better than a pickled cucumber, and not one has succeeded”).

Dessert:

• Pavlova as featherlight as a ballet dancer.

Sparkling wine that hisses like the serpent who tempted Eve.
