The Russian Poker Cup is to be held at the Sochi Poker Club on 17–26 February. This year, Russia’s Poker Championship buy-ins have gone down big time for all tournaments.
The series is now more budget-friendly, more affordable, more accessible: buy-ins for satellites now start at RUB 5,950 and it only costs RUB 10,500 to enter the fight for the cup. And it will cost players only RUB 77,000 to enter the most expensive event of the series, the high-roller tournament. The super high-roller tournament is no longer on the schedule and has been replaced with a more interesting version of «regular» high-rollers with the same buy-in, but with an instant payout of RUB 35,000 for each rival eliminated.
All in all, the tournament features 51 events, including 22 satellites and 29 cup events. At any stage of the Russian Poker Cup, players focus by default on the Main Omaha and Hold’em tournaments. This year, these have undergone the greatest changes of all events in the series.
First, the buy-in has now been almost halved. Second, the main tournaments now have re-entries: the Omaha Main and Hold’em Main feature one entry per starting flight.
Both main tournaments at the Russian Poker Cup have three starting flights. So each player may enter the game three times if necessary.
